Ah, so true. I read a book a while ago by tech critic Evgeny Morozov that says something similar. Morozov writes that tech utopian ideology has summoned this Orwellian-Huxleyian hybrid dystopia, and it still resonates with me today. We see so many references to Orwell, but we often overlook the comfort/convenience/hedonist aspect (the Huxley side). This part is so important to wilful enslavement (no state intervention needed!)
