I'm glad someone pointed this out. Yeah I noticed that it was funded by the Club of Rome and it led me deep down the rabbit hole. It's worth exploring this area more and questioning whether these global 'sustainable' efforts were *ever* a sincere move to mitigate climate change.
Perhaps this would make for a good follow-up, or separate analysis altogether. And it would be a good personal rebuttal to my own argument that this sustainable movement was later co-opted; perhaps it was controlled by special interests from the beginning, and it was later adopted to mainstream channels, e.g. environmental groups, etc. which is why we never saw any significant climate action in the past, what, 40+ years?
