This is why I'm so skeptical of the practice of digging up 'repressed' memories. It can go really sideways and there's no way to actually prove that these things happened. Clinicians just have to take the patient's word that it did. Seems to cause more problems than it solves.

Your other points remind me of how inaccurate eyewitness testimony is -- a while back I read that witness testimonies lead to wrongful convictions most of the time. Really puts into perspective how unreliable memory is.
