What kind of "various supplements" are you referring to? The only supplement I take regularly is B12 (and occasionally an algae supplement when I know I've been eating poorly) -- and about 40% of the US population (including omnis) are deficient in B12. Animals are now injected with B12 -- which is something that is normally found in soil but soil quality has declined so much that it's no longer a good sourceof B12). Animals are just the 'middle men' for getting your B12 needs.

No one bats an eye when someone's diet subsists of junk (hello obesity crisis), but when you say you're vegan, everyone's suddenly an expert on nutrition.

There's a bunch of plant-based docs out there -- I'm sure you've heard of them. (Game Changers being one of the more popular ones) I would recommend checking them out. Also, Dr. Michael Greger is an expert in nutrition - he has an entire website dedicated to properly educating people -- and it is backed by science, not just personal anecdotes. I would recommend checking him out, too. I'll leave it at that, but there's so much more info out there.

Thanks for the comment.
